When people find out I’m a history teacher they often ask me what my favorite part of history is. That’s like asking me which one of my children I love most except for that metaphor to work I would have to have a lot of really boring children and one of them is named American Revolution and I kind of love him or her most.
So imagine my shock when I learned that there is no museum dedicated to the American Revolution anywhere in America! How could that be? As a history professor I’m qualified to point out that without the American Revolution we wouldn’t have an America.
Thanks to CBS I learned about this national deficiency and the plans to remedy this problem by 2015.
[This two and a half minute video is worth the watch even if you do have to wait through a short commercial]
I’ll definitely be in Philadelphia when this baby opens up in 2015.
What’s your favorite part of history?
